Once an order/offer is placed via Secure Checkout, the gallery will receive a notification. They will then have 72 hours to respond to the order/offer. This is to confirm the piece is still available and ready to ship. You can see more on this here: How long will it take for a gallery to confirm my order or offer?
Once your order/offer is approved, your credit card will be charged and the gallery will prepare your artwork for shipment. Once the work is shipped, you will receive an email from orders@artsy.net with tracking information and an estimated delivery date so that you may follow along.
You may also check on the status in your Order History tab at any time, which you can learn more about here: Where can I check the status of my order?
If you’re negotiating and receive a counteroffer, you’ll have 72 hours to respond to the gallery. Be sure to check your email inbox regularly when you’re making offers on Artsy.
If a seller does not reply within 72 hours, the order will expire. Once orders expire, your order will be automatically cancelled and the hold is removed from your credit card accordingly.
If your offer is declined, we’ll tell you why via email or directly in Conversations. If the gallery found your offer too low, reopen negotiations by clicking “Make Offer” again, or buy it outright by clicking the “Buy Now” button (if available).
If you placed your order with wire transfer, Artsy's Orders team will contact you via email to provide you with the wire details. You will need to send a proof of payment so our team can check for the incoming funds. Once the payment has been received, we will confirm the order and ask the gallery to prepare the order for shipment.
If the work is no longer available or the gallery can’t ship to your location, contact our team at orders@artsy.net.
Our designated Orders Team will help you find a similar work. You can learn more about this here: My offer was declined, but I’m still interested in the work. What should I do?
